EAG VOLUNTEERS

 Thank you for volunteering!

As we gear up to the next season of shows and programs for the guild, we need volunteers to help in some key areas. We ask that volunteers please commit to at least 4 hours per year in any of the following volunteer opportunities listed below.

Remember, volunteers do not have to be a guild member. This is a great opportunity to get folks from the outside community to participate and bring additional skills into our organization.

Museum Delegate

Estimated Time per month: 8 hours (2-3 hours per week)

Duties include:

The Museum Delegate shall fill the second seat on the Elmhurst Art Museum Board (alongside the President), which is permanently assigned to the Guild. In this position, the delegate is to promote, in support of the Guild President, the interests of the Guild within the Museum and act as communication liaison between the Museum, Guild Board and membership.

*You would be required to attend Board Meetings.

Publicity

The Publicity Chairperson will develop a flyer and a social media post from upcoming Member Shows and Member Meetings. The local press will be notified of these events and include, The Independent, Daily Hearld, Art DuPage, Explore Elmhurst, The Patch and the Elmhurst Art Museum.

*You would be required to attend Board Meetings.

  1. Weekly updates to the Elmhurst Artists’ Guild Facebook page

  2. Informing the press for upcoming EAG Member and Solo Shows

  3. Developing a print flyer for each show to have displayed in the library show case.

Secretary

Estimated Time per month: 8 hours (2-3 hours per week)

Duties include:

The Secretary is an elected position and is considered an officer of the Board. The Secretary keeps minutes of all Board and membership meetings, maintains all current and historical documents (except for those of the Treasurer), possesses the Guild Seal and is responsible for the filing of the annual report to the Secretary of State.

*You would be required to attend Board Meetings

DOCENT

The EAG docent will act as a “gallery sitter”, someone to sit at the desk in the gallery and assist visitors and talk about the Guild and the exhibit on display during normal business hours. Any time you can give is greatly appreciated and helps our art sell!

Besides these positions, WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!
We were so happy to have so many volunteers at Art in The Park. (THANK YOU ALL! ❤️)

  • Please consider volunteering at an opening reception with our Hospitality Chair, Don Bradley.

  • Come help hang a show with the Gallery Crew.

  • Be a docent in the gallery during the run of a show.

If everyone gave only 4 hours a year, (the mere equivalent of watching two movies) we would never need to ask for help. Inquire about these position by sending an email to me (Joe Abboreno).
