EAG VOLUNTEERS
Thank you for volunteering!
As we gear up to the next season of shows and programs for the guild, we need volunteers to help in some key areas. We ask that volunteers please commit to at least 4 hours per year in any of the following volunteer opportunities listed below.
Remember, volunteers do not have to be a guild member. This is a great opportunity to get folks from the outside community to participate and bring additional skills into our organization.
TREASURER
Estimated Time per month: 8 hours (2-3 hours per week)
Duties include:
Maintain ClearCheckbook for art guild
The Treasurer will pay all the bills/write the checks
Calculate and distribute artist sales payments
Manage the guild mail that comes into the gallery at the museum
Take ownership of all league bank accounts and do the banking
File our annual tax returns
Oversee payment of annual insurance policies, village licenses, and state annual report form
Attend monthly Board Meeting to give quick financial update (1st Thursday of the month).
Publicity
Estimated Time per month: 8 hours (2-3 hours per week)
Duties include:
Weekly updates to the Elmhurst Artists’ Guild Facebook page
Informing the press for upcoming EAG Member and Solo Shows
Developing a print flyer for each show to have displayed in the library show case.
DOCENT
The EAG docent will act as a “gallery sitter”, someone to sit at the desk in the gallery and assist visitors and talk about the Guild and the exhibit on display during normal business hours. Any time you can give is greatly appreciated and helps our art sell!
EXHIBITS
Assist with the Member Show drop off by checking in the artwork, creating the inventory list, printing labels, hang the art and/or patching walls. You will also be responsible for notify artists that do not pick up on time of the $10 storage fee. Based on experience, you may also supervise show installs for solo shows and invitational shows to answer questions and advise of our approved hanging methods and label use.
HOSPITALITY
We are always in need of Basset Licensed bartenders. Other volunteers may asked to assist with supply shopping, keeping inventory of the hospitality closet, table set up and attendance for Member Shows and Member Meetings. This volunteer role involves assisting the Hospitality chairperson fulfill their duties.
